SELECT RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Fortune 100 Consumer
Products Co.–
This 2 year assignment involved global team building for a research development
group (35 members) from the Health and Beauty Care Division. Team members were
located in the U.S., China, and the U.K. The R&D efforts for these products
were being centralized in either the UK or China, with extensive coordination
and design support coming from the headquarters in the U.S. The upfront and
ongoing team building efforts resulted in several products being launched 6-9
months ahead of schedule. And, because of this success, this team building
process design has been replicated within
other divisions of the company. This project required me to visit China for 1-2
week stays 4 times.
School Based Health
Centers – Over
a 5 year period, Joe worked with 12 sites across the U.S. which had been funded
by a major corporate foundation) to provide extensive youth and community
leadership development training to make these leaders more effective in
determining, negotiating, and utilizing the health care services being provided
by FQHCs, state, and local health care providers within School Based Health
Centers. He also actively
participated in helping to build strong and authentic relationships and
coalitions among the relevant and quite diverse stakeholders to shape relevant
health and education policies along with developing skills to influence policy
advocacy initiatives at the local, state, and federal levels.
Global Investment Bank – For 2 years, Joe developed and facilitated
teambuilding workshops for new associates in New York. Each incoming class had
approximately 40 associates. The design included simulated exercises and
doing “Ropes Courses” to develop skills in team participation, time management,
and project planning. As a result of this upfront development of the
associates’ competencies, their “on-boarding” process went much quicker and
smoother, enabling these associates to become more productive members of their
assigned teams in a much shorter time frame than previous incoming classes.
Working with the client, he then designed and delivered a Train-the-Trainer
workshop to develop the internal trainers to deliver these ”on-boarding”
workshops for future incoming classes of associates in the U.S., as well as the
UK and Asia.
Global Oil and Gas Co. – Over a 4 year period, Joe worked on a
project team doing leadership development and change/transition management
workshops for the company's management teams along with individual contributors
in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, and the United Arab Emirates. Much of the
work focused on blending the recently acquired workgroups from several mergers
into the newly combined global work teams.
